Weekly Teleparent Sunday Call 1.17.10 Covering 1-18 to 1-22

Good Evening Parents, this is  _______________ from South Junior High with your weekly parent update. 

1. There is NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 18^th in honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
2. There will be a Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, January 19^th at 6pm at South Junior High. Principal Chris Esperanza will be answering your questions that evening.
3. The next School Site Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 20^th at 2:30pm in room 103.  All are welcome to attend.
4. The end of the semester is only eight days away.  Please work with your student to ensure they have completed all assignments.  Check online to see if they have any missing assignments or low grades.  The semester ends on Thursday, January 28^th with a minimum day and Friday, January 29^th is a non-student day. 
5. The SOUTH READING CHALLENGE has begun!  Encourage your student to read at home and take book quizzes on the computer thru Renaissance Place. There is a Renaissance Place link on the South website for taking quizzes. Students can win prizes and rewards.

Buenas Noches Padres, yo soy Silvia Chiriboga de South Junior High con las noticias para la semana.

1. NO HAY ESCUELA mañana, 18 de enero, es un día festivo en honor a Martin Luther King Jr.
2. Habrá una Junta de la Alcaldía, el 19 de enero a las 6:00pm en South Junior High. El Director, Sr.Chris Esperanza estará contestando a sus preguntas esta noche.
3. La próxima Junta del Consejo Escolar Local se llevará a cabo el miércoles 20 de enero a las 2:30pm en el salón 103.  Todos están invitados a atender y son bienvenidos.
4. Faltan solamente ocho días para terminar el semestre. Por favor trabaje con sus estudiantes para asegurarse que ellos hayan completado todos sus trabajos asignados. Revise en el Internet para ver si ellos tienen trabajos asignados pendientes o bajas calificaciones.  El semestre termina el jueves 28 de enero con un día mínimo y el 29 de enero no hay clases para los estudiantes.
5. iEl SOUTH READING CHALLENGE para lectura a empezado!  Anime a su estudiante a que lea en la casa y que tome las pruebas del libro en la computadora a través del enlace Renaissance Place en el  website de South para tomar pruebas. Los estudiantes pueden ganar premios y recompensas.
