Mission Statement
Our purpose at South Junior High School is to provide a safe and secure learning environment that promotes a positive school experience. Our goal is to offer a standards based, best practices curriculum that allows all students an opportunity to achieve academically as well as to grow socially and emotionally. We believe in the importance of all stakeholders working collectively to maximize individual success. Role of the Student Every student shall attend school punctually and regularly; conform to the regulations of the school; obey promptly all the directions of his/her teacher and others in authority; observe good order and propriety or deportment; be diligent in study; respectful to his/her teachers and others in authority; kind and courteous to schoolmates; and refrain entirely from the use of profane and vulgar language. Role of the Teacher All classes and activities are designed to meet students' needs: academically, physically, and emotionally. You will find that we have a competent, enthusiastic, and caring staff, which recognizes your unique characteristics. Role of the Counselor Counselors are available to help students with academic, social or personal concerns. They do not make decisions for students but help and encourage them to make wise choices, develop self-discipline and gain self-confidence.
